Main ingredients: carbon (C) ≤ 0.015, manganese (Mn) ≤ 1.00, nickel (Ni) ≥ 72, silicon (Si) ≤ 0.5, phosphorus (P) ≤ 0.015, sulfur (S) ≤ 0.015, chromium (Cr) 14.0 ~ 17.0, iron (Fe) 6.0 ~ 10.0, aluminum (Al) ≤ 0.3, titanium (Ti) ≤ 0.3, copper (Cu) ≤ 0.5;
Heat treatment: keep warm between 980-1150℃ for 1-2 hours, quickly cool in air or water.
Corrosion resistance and main use environment:
INCONEL 600 is a nickel-chromium-iron based solid solution strengthening alloy with good high temperature corrosion resistance (acid and alkali resistance) and oxidation resistance, excellent cold and hot processing and welding process performance, and satisfactory thermal strength and high plasticity below 700℃.
The alloy is designed for low temperature to 1093℃ environment. It has excellent oxidation resistance at high temperatures, and has good oxidation resistance and carbonization stability at 1093°C (but its upper temperature limit is 535°C in a reducing atmosphere containing hydrogen sulfide).
It is very effective in treating hydrogen chloride and chlorine at high temperatures; hydrogen chloride can reach about 538°C, and chlorine can be safely used up to 510°C. This alloy also has excellent corrosion resistance to nitrogen, hydrogen and carburization, so it is used in various heat treatment furnaces.
Application areas include: retort furnaces, muffle furnaces and heat treatment fixtures and baskets, vacuum furnace devices, chlorination equipment with a maximum operating temperature of 1000 degrees Fahrenheit, titanium dioxide plants, retort furnaces, heaters, distiller, bubble tower and condenser in fatty acid processes, evaporator tubes, tube sheets and tableting plates in sodium sulfide manufacturing processes, rosin acid treatment equipment in pulp manufacturing, etc.
