Titanium alloy wire mesh Brand, characteristics and application introduction

Titanium alloy wire mesh is also known as titanium wire mesh, titanium alloy woven mesh, titanium alloy filter mesh, titanium alloy screen mesh, titanium alloy mesh, titanium alloy square hole mesh, etc.

Types of titanium alloy wire mesh: titanium alloy crimped mesh, titanium alloy wire mesh demister, titanium alloy perforated plate, titanium alloy diamond mesh, titanium alloy mesh, titanium alloy hexagonal mesh, titanium alloy square hole screen, titanium alloy filter, titanium alloy protective mesh, etc.

Titanium is a high-strength and low-density metal, its ductility is pretty good especially in an oxygen-free environment. It is one of the metals with highest strength-to-weight ratio. The colour of pure titanium is metallic lustre white. Its melting point is relatively high, so it is a good refractory metal material. It is a paramagnetic metal with quite low thermal and electrical conductivity. Cheap Titanium wire mesh products as follows:

Commercial pure titanium’s ultimate tensile strength is same with common low-grade steel alloys which is 434 MPa, however it is 45% lighter than steel alloys. The density of titanium is 60% higher than aluminium, but the its strength is 200% of the most commonly used 6061-T6 aluminium alloy. Titanium could be used for variety of purposes. The tensile strengths of some titanium alloys could achieve 1400 MPa; however, when it is heated 430℃ and above, the strength starts to reduce.

Among many features of titanium, excellent corrosion resistance is the most remarkable one. Corrosion resistance of titanium is almost as good as platinum’s, titanium resists to corrosion of dilute sulphuric acid, diluted hydrochloric acid, chlorine gas, chloride solution and most organic acids, but it also could be dissolved by concentrated acids. Even though titanium is a thermodynamically highly active metal, it reacts with water and air very slow.

When expose to air, a layer of protective passivated oxidation film forms on the surface of titanium, which prevents oxidation to continue. The protective layer is only 1-2nm at the beginning, it slowly thickens over time, reaching a thickness of 25 nm in four years. In high-temperature air, titanium reacts with oxygen easily. It happens when he air temperature reaching 1200℃, and in the pure oxygen, it will react at 610℃ and generate titanium dioxide. Therefore, titanium cannot be melted in the air, since it will burn before the temperature reaches its melting point. Therefore, titanium only can be melted in vacuum or inert gases. When the temperature is 550℃, titanium will react with chlorine gas. It could also be combine with other halogens, and absorb hydrogen. Titanium is one of few elements can burn in pure nitrogen, when the temperature reach 800℃, generate TiN, cause embrittlement.

Common Grade:

Commercial Pure Titanium: TA0, TA1, TA2

Titanium Alloy: TA5, TA7, TA9, TA10, TC4

The Main Features of Titanium:

1. Resistant to corrosion of acids and alkalis, seawater, waste water;

2. Low density, light;

3. Nonmagnetic;

4. The tensile strength of titanium is almost the strongest among all the metals while using in the temperature between -253℃ and 600℃.
