Introduction to the types, names, characteristics, materials and types of metal wire mesh

GB national standard metal wire mesh is also known as national standard wire mesh, national standard stainless steel wire mesh, national standard stainless steel screen, national standard stainless steel mesh, GB wire mesh, GB woven mesh, and GB filter mesh.

Stainless steel wire mesh materials: 304, 304L, 316, 316L, 310S, 321, 347, 2205, 2507, 410, etc.
Properties: acid resistance, alkali resistance, high temperature resistance, tensile resistance, wear resistance, etc.
Application: used for filtering and screening in acid and alkali environment, used as mud net in petroleum industry, chemical filling net, chemical fiber industry as sieve screen, electrogalvanized as pickling net, food and medicine, mining and petroleum, metallurgical machinery, protective building crafts, etc.

1. Model and meaning
Reference GB/T5330-2003 standard marking model and specification
example: Industrial metal wire plain weave square hole screen is marked as: GFW1.0/0.35 (plain weave) GB/T5330-2003
G: Industrial (industrial)
F: square hole (square)
W: screen (net)
2. Raw materials The raw material of
GB national standard metal wire mesh is stainless steel wire, and GB/T1220-2007 stainless steel rod and wire performance standard is referenced.
The main raw materials of woven stainless steel screen for particle screening are SUS304 and SUS316 stainless steel wire.
The surface of stainless steel wire should be smooth, without cracks, peeling and oxide scale, and heavy oxidation color.
3 Inspection method
Stainless steel screens are required to be inspected on a frosted glass inspection table with a uniform light source below. Inspection of stainless steel screens requires careful inspection according to the following procedures.
3.1 Inspect width, radial and latitudinal mesh apertures, and measure wire diameter.
3.2 Inspect the radial mesh holes on the surface of the stainless steel screen for columns.
3.3 Inspect the latitudinal mesh holes on the surface of the stainless steel screen for sparse and dense meshes, and whether the weft wires are straight.
3.4 Inspect the overall mesh structure of the stainless steel screen, requiring the following inspections:
1) Radial curling of the mesh surface, weft curling
of the mesh surface 2) Blisters, wavy edges, and undulations on the mesh surface
3) The mesh surface reaches the corresponding hardness
4) Check the surface of the stainless steel screen mesh for mesh defects
GB national standard metal wire mesh inspection method description:
GB national standard metal wire mesh has particularly strict requirements on aperture, requiring all problems to be solved in the production process, and resolutely preventing serious problems from occurring during the inspection process.
1. The material, surface, diameter, tension range, etc. of the stainless steel wire must be carefully tested before the diameter is adjusted
2. The accuracy of the radial mesh is the basis for ensuring the accuracy of the screened particles, so the reed must be checked before the diameter is adjusted. It is best to use a new reed before each weaving to avoid the occurrence of radial column problems during the weaving process. If there are any column problems during the weaving process, the reed must be repaired or a new reed must be selected in
time. 3. During the weaving process, the weaver is required to measure the weft mesh holes at multiple points, and the quality inspector shall conduct random inspections at any time and solve any problems in time.
4 Calculation method
4.1 Measurement data: average mesh hole value, large mesh hole value, wire diameter, width, length
4.2 Inspection tools: box ruler, micrometer, vernier caliper, microscope with scale, meter table
4.3 Calculation formula: 1. Aperture = 25.4mm ÷ mesh number - wire diameter
2. Average mesh hole
1) W = L ÷ nd
2) W = (Ln×d) ÷ n
3. Screening rate: A=W²÷(W+d)²×100%
Note: W: the average distance between two adjacent radial wires or weft wires
n: the number of mesh holes
L: the length of n mesh holes and n wire diameters, unit: mm
d: the diameter of the metal wire
A: the percentage of all mesh areas to the screening area on the entire screening surface
Example: The stainless steel screen required to be produced is 19.54 mesh×0.3mm×1.2mm×30m. How to calculate the aperture, detect the mesh holes, and calculate the screening rate?
1) Aperture: 25.4mm÷19.54mesh-0.3mm=1.0mm
2) To test the average mesh size, first measure 30 meshes and the wire diameter is 39mm
W= 39mm-30 wires×0.3mm 30 holes=1.0mm
3) Screening rate A=1²÷(1+0.3)²×100%=59.2%
Note: 1. Quality inspectors should take careful measurements during the aperture inspection process and use multi-point measurement methods to obtain accurate data for analysis
2. The large mesh value is mainly measured using a graduated microscope. The large mesh value needs to be tested when the following conditions occur on the stainless steel screen surface:
① The weft is sparse and dense; ② The weft is not straight; ③ The weft holes are one sparse and one dense
5. The mesh aperture and corresponding standards
refer to GB/T5330-2003 Industrial Metal Wire Braided Square Hole Screen. This standard is determined for reference in combination with actual production and use conditions.
