1. Structural type: plain weave and twill, among which twill is divided into full-covered twill and non-full-covered twill.

2. Model and specification: The model of metal wire mesh is indicated by "code and nominal aperture size".

A) The code for plain weave is "MPW".

B) The code for all-inclusive twill weave is "MXW'

C) The code for the non-full-cover twill weave is "MBW"

The specifications of the metal wire woven dense mesh are expressed as "basic mesh number in the warp direction × basic mesh number in the weft direction/basic diameter of the warp wire × basic diameter of the weft wire".

Example 3: A partially covered twill woven dense mesh with a nominal aperture size of 25 µm and a specification of 165×600/0.071×0.05 is marked as: MBW650/25 165×600/0.071×0.05 GB/T21648-2008


GB/T21648-2008 Technical requirements for industrial metal wire woven dense mesh

1. The wire material, surface quality and wire diameter deviation shall comply with the requirements of JB/T7860.

2. The mechanical properties of the metal wire and the minimum weight of a single piece shall comply with the requirements agreed upon by both the supplier and the buyer.

3. The specifications of the metal wire woven dense mesh, the mesh size and deviation between the warp wires, and the weft wire density should comply with the provisions in the table. Specifications not listed in the table can be provided upon agreement between the supply and demand parties.

4. The number of large mesh holes between warp threads shall not exceed 3% of the total number of warp threads.

5. The width of the metal wire woven dense mesh is 800mm, 1000mm, 1250mm, 2m, and the width deviation is +20mm. It can also be agreed upon by both parties.


GB/T21648-2008 Inspection rules for industrial metal wire woven dense mesh

1. The dense mesh can only be shipped after being inspected and qualified by the manufacturer's quality inspection department.

2. The dense mesh should be submitted for inspection in rolls. If a roll contains several sections of mesh, each section must be inspected.

3. The purchaser may inspect the dense mesh according to the following contents to determine whether it meets the various indicators specified in this standard.

a. Type of weaving, b. Quality of weaving. c. Warp and weft density. d. Width, length and quantity of mesh. e. Diameter of metal wires. f. Chemical composition.
