0Cr18Ni9Ti (the old 321 corresponding stainless steel) contains titanium that resists intergranular corrosion, has good intergranular corrosion resistance and cold working stamping performance, has strong corrosion resistance to oxidizing acids (such as nitric acid), and also has certain corrosion resistance to alkaline solutions and most organic and inorganic acids.

With the improvement of stainless steel production technology in my country and other countries in the world, it has become an obsolete product. Due to my country's national conditions, it is still retained to meet the needs of backward usage habits and production levels, and is not a recommended steel type. According to the national standard GB/T20878-2007, when 0Cr18Ni9Ti is really needed, 0Cr18Ni10Ti (0Cr18Ni9Ti) should also be used.

The corrosion data of 0Cr18Ni9TI steel in nitric acid, sulfuric acid, phosphoric acid and acetic acid are shown in Tables 10-10, 10-11 and 10-12 respectively. This steel is suitable for low-temperature acetic acid, especially dilute acetic acid. In situations where acetic acid is more common, austenitic stainless steel containing molybdenum or molybdenum and copper should be selected.

Pure acetic acid is less corrosive and generally does not cause local corrosion. However, in actual production, storage, transportation and use, the presence of impurities such as CI- and formic acid can cause accelerated corrosion and is very sensitive to pitting corrosion. As the temperature and concentration of acetic acid increase, corrosion will increase. This shows that when using corrosion data obtained from the laboratory, it is necessary to combine it with the actual use of the medium.
